Jon has spent twenty years behind the kit on the world's stages. He was a member of post-punk pioneers Gang of Four from 2013 to 2019, and since 2016 he's toured and recorded with Deep Purple's Don Airey and Ian Gillan — including dates with a forty-piece orchestra across Russia and Eastern Europe. Before that he played five nights supporting Beyoncé at London's O2 and thirty-two dates with Girls Aloud. He picked up the sticks at eleven, was gigging by thirteen, passed Guildhall Grade 8 by sixteen, and turned full-time pro out of London's Drumtech. He teaches Detar students online from his own UK studio — a broadcast-quality setup with multiple camera angles — and has worked with students from age four to seventy, first lesson through working pro, grades 1 to 8.
