Alex is a lifelong working musician who started on his mom's piano at age five and has since played guitar, bass, and drums on stages across five countries — from Santa Barbara to Tokyo to Thailand. He taught music full-time here in Santa Barbara for years, leading teen rock bands, before taking his teaching online. Now he works with Detar students remotely — guitar, piano, voice, bass, or drums — with the same one-on-one attention, wherever you are. He's the teacher for the student who wants to keep lessons going through a move, a busy season, or the summer.
