Recording & Film
A working studio, not a classroom with mics
Tracking rooms, vintage outboard gear, and a control room that has cut records, scored films, and produced artists across the West Coast.
What happens here
Tracking & mixing
Treated, mic'd rooms for bands, solo artists, and voiceover — through a rack of vintage tube gear that reads warmer than any plugin.
Artist production
From arrangement to finished master — artist development and production with founder Gus DeTar, producer and composer.
Film scoring
Original score and sound for film — composed, performed, and mixed in-house. Hear it in the selected work below.

The live roomSelected work
Scores composed here have run under a YouTube Movies feature trailer, Vans' Living Off The Wall documentary series, 30+ episodes of The Berrics' PUSH, festival trailers, and brand films. Press play — this is what the room sounds like on screen.
Studio time
$120/hour, one-hour minimum — engineering included. Students in our lesson programs record as part of the journey; independent artists and filmmakers book by the session.
Behind the console
The studio is run by founder Gus DeTar — producer, composer, and film scorer. He built Detar so students could learn where records actually get made; the same rooms work for hire after hours.
